Aga into Toronto 2nd round
No.10 seed Agnieszka defeated CoCo Vandeweghe 6-3, 6-2 on Tuesday to move into the Rogers Cup second round.
The Pole capitalised on three of her seven break point chances and saved all five break points she faced en-route to a one hour, 19-minute victory in Toronto.
Aga broke the big-serving American once in the first set and twice in the second.
Stats: aces (5-2), double faults (1-3), 1st serve points won % (72-54), total points won (66-45).
The 2014 Rogers Cup champion (Montreal) goes on to play either Timea Babos (HUN) or Bianca Andreescu (CAN, WC) in the next round.
