Aga knocked out of Australian Open
No 3 seed Agnieszka crashed out of the Australian Open after falling victim to a stunning two-set defeat at the hands of Mirjana Lucic-Baroni of Croatia. Aga was hoping to win her first Grand Slam title in Melbourne, but her pursuit is over for another year after Lucic-Baroni, ranked 79th in the world, won 6-3 6-2.

The 34-year-old attacked Radwanska from the start, breaking in the fourth game of the first set to open up a 3-1 lead. Radwanska was unable to bridge the gap, and Lucic-Baroni took the opener 6-3.
If the first set belonged to Lucic-Baroni, it looked initially like the second was Radwanska’s. The world No.3 broke in the first game of the set and held to lead 2-0. But from there, Lucic-Baroni would not lose another game. The veteran Croat, who last progressed beyond the Australian Open first round in 1998, reeled off six games in a row to seal a stunning victory, and handed Radwanska her earliest exit at the Australian Open since 2009.
