Agnieszka honoured by president
Agnieszka has been honoured by Polish President Andrzej Duda. She was awarded the order for outstanding sports achievements and promoting Poland worldwide.
"You have won a place in the history of Polish and world tennis,” said the president as he presented the 29-year-old star with a Polonia Restituta Commander's Cross.
"You won it not two months ago, when you announced the end of your career as one of the best known and title-winning tennis players, but in 2005, when, still as a young girl, almost a child, you won the Wimbledon juniors' tournament and brought this incredible title home to Poland,” added the president during the ceremony.
“I felt very moved, when Mr President named all those achievements. I never expected to be here to receive such order. I feel very appreciated, it is an honour for me,” Aga said after receiving the order.
